Is it safe to connect an AI assistant to our data room through MCP?
Yes. When you connect Claude, ChatGPT, or another assistant through MCP, it works under the same permissions and audit logging as any other user. It only sees documents you've explicitly given it access to, and every request it makes shows up in the same activity log as everyone else's. No document ever has to leave Capcade to reach the AI.
Can I bring my existing team and permissions structure?
Yes. Set your team up once and reuse it across every new room — the same people, groups and permission levels carry over, so you are not re-inviting the same colleagues deal by deal. Group permissions can still be adjusted room by room without rebuilding the structure from scratch.
I already have my documents organized on my desktop or SharePoint, how do I get them into Capcade?
Drag the folder across as it is. Capcade keeps your existing folder structure and file names on upload, indexes everything automatically so it is searchable straight away, and scans every file for viruses as it lands. You can also forward documents into the room by secure email-in.
Do the people I invite need a Capcade account to access the room?
Anyone you invite reaches the room through a verified login, with access limited to exactly the folders and files you have granted them. Every view, download and action is recorded against their identity in the audit log, so you always know who saw what and when.
What happens when my project ends, do I lose access?
No. The room stays yours for as long as your subscription runs. Documents, version history and the full audit trail stay in place and searchable, and a finished room can be archived rather than deleted, so a closed deal is still evidence you can produce later.
Can I upgrade from Core to Unlimited mid-year?
Yes, at any point in your term. You pay the difference pro rata for the time remaining and the upgrade takes effect immediately — nothing has to be migrated, re-uploaded or set up again.
Are there any hidden fees, per-page charges, viewer fees, overage costs?
No. The price on the plan is the price. There are no per-page charges, no per-viewer fees and no overage billing — unlimited users are included on every tier, and storage is stated up front rather than metered.
